A rescue operation is now underway for two hikers stranded near Martin Head on the Fundy Trail.
Saint John Fire Department Platoon Chief Eric Garland says they received a call last night from the Hampton RCMP asking for help, after which, the city fire department deployed a six person high angle rescue team.
Garland says this morning with a help of a helicopter someone was placed on the side of the hill where the hiker is stuck and is staying with them while the high angle team makes its way towards them.
Crews from Saint John, Hampton and Sussex are involved in the rescue.
