The first day of school is right around the corner and people can help make it easier for elementary students.
Bell Aliant’s annual Backpacks for Kids is underway for its 13th year.
They are trying to fill 10,000 backpacks.
Community Relations Manager, Dawn Boylan, says it’s also relieving pressure on parents.
“Back to school is a really challenging time for families who are already finding it difficult. This program eases some of that financial burden.”
People can give $27 to help fill a backpack with supplies including notebooks, crayons, paper, pencils and a ruler.
Money can be donated online or at Bell Aliant stores until September 4.
