Program Helps Baseball Dreams Come True For Special Needs Kids

Special needs youth in the City of Moncton are pursuing their dreams on the baseball field, thanks to a local program that started in 2010.

Spokesperson for the Field of Dreams Ruth Langille says the program is for children with cognitive or physical disabilities.

The program works closely with the Moncton Fishercats, and has currently has 40 kids involved, between the ages of 5 and 18.

They divide up on Monday nights and play baseball with Fishercats players.

Langille says they’re hoping to expand the program so they can accomodate even more kids.
