Canada’s Trade Deficit Almost Erased By Strong Export Numbers

Canada’s merchandise trade deficit dropped dramatically in June according to the numbers from Statistics Canada.

The deficit came in at 476 million dollars, thanks to a 6.3% increase in exports and a slight drop in imports.

That’s significantly lower than the predicted deficit of 2.9 billion dollars.

The low Canadian dollar is boosting exporters, especially in American markets where exports surged 7.1%.
