Powerful stories about witnessing deadly drunk driving crashes being shared by RCMP officers across the Maritimes this week as part of a social media campaign called Five More Reasons Not To Drink and Drive.
Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh tells us RCMP officers are among the first to respond when there’s a crash on the highway and witness first hand the devastating effects of impaired driving.
She says the five stories, told by officers from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI depict what they dealt with including having to deliver the news to the families.
According to the RCMP in the first six months of this year alone there have been 26 deaths from crashes on roads patrolled by the Mounties in New Brunswick.
