NB Auditor General Concerned About Province’s Private Wood Supply

Auditor General Kim MacPherson has identified concerns over the roles the Department of Natural Resources and the New Brunswick Forest Products Commission in their oversight of the province’s private wood supply.

Green Party Leader David Coon says the government is not enforcing it’s own laws when it comes to the province’s wood supply

Coon says the lack of enforcement in forest management is resulting in a deficit on average of $5 million a year for the last five years.

He adds it’s a violation of the province’s own legislation and they are not complying with it.
