With only a few short days left before the opening match in Moncton for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, ticket sales are increasing.
That’s according to Venue General Manager Stephane Delisle, who says they had a lofty goal of 1.5 million spectators for the tournament, so far they have surpassed 900,000.
“We are now at 80% capacity for Tuesday June 9th, which is our opening match day with France versus England, and Colombia versus Mexico,” says Delisle.
Delisle says pending the final placement of broadcast booths, and seating for officials, approximately 13,000 seats will be available for fans.
Tickets are still available through the FIFA website, and at a box office outside the Moncton Stadium.
