A group of Bernice MacNaughton High school students has recently returned from Toronto, where they competed in a well know trivia game…
The senior Reach for the Top team placed 13th overall nationally.
Grade twelve student David Martell says there are a few things being a part of Reach for the Top can teach you, Teamwork is one of them, and another it gives you a reason to use all of the random trivia they’ve learned.
There are two team levels, senior and intermediate. The teams go head to head against other high school teams.
Keha Kim says competing is a lot of fun, but it can be stressful as well, because you have to push the buzzer as fast as you can, and things can get pretty challenging. He says the things they’ve learned will help them moving forward when they head out in the work world.
Questions range from world history and physics to pop music and Pokemon.
Grade 11 student Eric Culf says they play much on each others strengths, because if one person is good at Geography, they’ll answer all of those questions, and if someone else is good at Science, they’ll handle those.
