Deliberations Underway In Serena Perry Inquest

Deliberations are now underway in the inquest into the death of Serena Perry at the Saint John Regional Hospital in February of 2012.

Coroner John Evans making his instructions to the five-person jury. He says that the options for cause of death in this case are: suicide, homicide, accidental or undetermined telling the jury that choosing undetermined is not a cop-out and that it is a legitimate finding. He does say that natural causes can be ruled out.

Evans says in order to choose suicide there has to have been a clear intention that Perry wanted to kill herself and if it’s homicide you need evidence that another person was involved in her death.

The jury began the deliberations at about 10:30am.
