Motorists who use Acadie Avenue/Amirault Street on a daily basis should prepare themselves for traffic delays, starting on Moncton next week.
Reconstruction road work will finally get underway, and will be done between 7am and 7pm at night.
The road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Alain-GIlette Street and Chartersville Road.
The City of Dieppe is recommending that motorists leave themselves extra time to avoid traffic jams.
This $13.5 million project will see a multi-purpose path, left turning lanes, curbs and sidewalks added, and the road will also be raised up to one metre to reduce the potential for flooding.
Road work is expected to continue until December.
