All this talk about privatising the management of non-medical services in hospitals is causing some concern with the New Brunswick Federation of Labour and Coalition for Pay Equity.
Labour Federation President Patrick Colford says privatisation usually results in job losses and it seems we are going backwards when it comes to job security and wages with the workplace becoming more precarious.
The Coalition for Pay Equity is worried because it points out women in the private sector earn less than they do working for the government according to a study by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.
