Seniors gathered once again in Greater Moncton to express their concern over recent cuts in the budget for the elderly.
A series of meetings have been organized across the province by the Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents to discuss the issues.
Over 100 people turned out at yesterdays meeting.
The uncertainty of the recent announcement in the budget that would see changes to government subsidized care, has left some people very uneasy.
The provincial government continues to stress that this will only affect around 13 per cent of the seniors in the province, with most them being well off, and they’ve also said assets such as homes wouldn’t be used to figure out whether or not a senior could pay more.
But the Coalition says New Brunswick seniors are already paying the highest amounts in Canada, and this is only going to make things worse.
