Twenty thousand dollars to build an outdoor classroom is up for grabs in this year’s Majesta Trees of Knowledge competition, and there are two schools from Greater Moncton vying for your votes this year.
Birchmount school is hoping to further its vision of the Birchmount community.
Principal Heather White Gerhardt says it’s important that students experience the world around them.
They have worked head to develop a vision of playing green and having the children play outside and in nature. They have equipment in, which we’ve raised the money for, and their next phase is greening that.
Their outdoors classroom would include an opportunity for planting, and learning to use recycled materials for the artwork.
Lou McNarin in Dieppe is the other school is the other school in the competition.
The deadline for votes is May 4th school with the most votes…will be awarded the prize on May 6th.
