The Gallant government has made an offer to New Brunswick’s retired public servants over changes to their pensions.
But few details have been released.
Finance Minister Roger Melanson says an offer has been made with respect to the retirees’ base pension and cost of living increases.
“We made a proposition to them that respects the fiscal framework of our province.”
We are waiting to hear comments from the retirees who collectively have formed the Pension Coalition of New Brunswick.
The group launched a lawsuit last June when the previous Alward government made a switch to a shared risk pension model.
