The Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships are being held in Moncton this weekend with 26 teams from Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes.
Jane Marshall, a spokesperson for Ringette New Brunswick, says hundreds will be gathering in the city for the tournament.
“When you consider you have about 526 participants, usually there is a match of at least another 500 parents… the economic impact on this area will be very significant.”
Marshall says five teams from New Brunswick qualified for this tournament, including three teams in the under-14 category.
Games will be taking place at the Red Ball Internet Centre throughout the weekend until Sunday.
