Higgs Believes Gallant Government Has “Deferred Budget Until Next Year”

The former Conservative Finance Minister in the Alward cabinet believes the Gallant government’s budget is a reflection of the fact that a federal election is just on the horizon.

Blaine Higgs, who serves as the MLA for Quispasmsis, says it doesn’t stir up a lot of pots with no tolls, no HST increases and no discussion about carbon tax. He says they have deferred a budget until next year because there’s a federal election this year and they don’t want to have an upset in New Brunswick.

Higgs says the Liberal government is in a position that they have to make some serious changes and thinks they don’t want to do it this year.
