Halifax: TSB Investigation Into Air Canada Plane Crash Underway

A full team of investigators will be combing over the site of a plane crash at the Halifax airport.

The Transportation Safety Board will have roughly a dozen officials at the crash scene on Monday.

Spokesperson Mike Cunningham says the Air Canada plane touched down 1,100 feet short of the runway, went through an antenna array and skidded nearly 340 meters before stopping.

The pilot was trying to land at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport during a snowstorm early Sunday morning.

Twenty-five people were taken to hospital but almost everyone has been sent home.

The plane was coming from Toronto and had 133 passengers and five crew members on board.

The TSB will try to determine exactly what caused the crash.
