Local Students Inspired To End Bullying

A visit to a local school by a Harlem Globetrotter to talk about bullying is bearing fruit already.

Julian “Zeus” McClurkin presented the “ABCs of Bullying Prevention” to students at Queen Elizabeth School.

Grade 8 student Dawson Henwood says seeing McClurkin’s presentation where he emphasized how Action, Bravery and Compassion can reduce bullying was great for the students to see.

“I think it’s a good message to be given to the kids here because there’s a lot of bullying that happens here and it needs to be stopped,” says Henwood.

Henwood says while he has been part of the bullying problem in the past, he will follow the ABCs in the future to do his part to reduce bullying.

Several other students, including other Grade 8 students Emmanuel Octavious, and Kris McFadden also voiced their support of the presentation saying they would do their part to follow the ABCs and help combat bullying.
