A brazen downtown bank robbery is under investigation.

Codiac RCMP say a man entered the Scotiabank at 323 St. George Street shortly after 12 noon today and held up the branch.

Police say the man fled on foot with an amount of cash.

Officers tried to track the man using a police dog but they lost the trail near Dufferin and Weldon Streets.

Mounties are expected to release a description of the suspect later today.

If you saw anything, contact Codiac RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
