Motorists have spent the winter grumbling – not only because of bad road conditions, but also because of the damage the harsh season has done to their vehicles.
J.P. Beliveau from JP’s Garage in Dieppe says the snow and ice can build up underneath the hood and that can cause problems in the coming months.
“Down the road you’re going to start having problems because the belt can slide off with too much ice under the hood. A lot of things can jam up because of ice. The engine could overheat too… if the engine is not breathing properly, the radiator is not breathing properly.”
He says it’s important you have your transmission serviced as well.
Because of all of the snow and ice this winter, Beliveau adds the tires on your vehicle are going to sustain a lot of wear and tear.
