Codiac RCMP Remind Residents About Concealing Weapons

Codiac RCMP were forced to shut down a street in the Hildegard neighbourhood Sunday night after receiving another call about a possible gun.

Police received a call from Mailhot Avenue around 11-pm about a man with his face covered waving what appeared to be a toy gun at homes and at vehicles passing by.

Police closed off the street searched the area.

A 19-year-old Moncton man was found a short time later at a home on McCoy Street and police determined the gun was a toy.

As a result, police are issuing another reminder to residents to ensure that any weapon, replica gun or toy gun is concealed and out of public view.
