Moncton’s “Coldest Night Of The Year” Reaches Goal

More than 150 people took part in Moncton’s “Coldest Night of the Year” on Saturday evening.

The fundraising walkathon featured 2K, 5K and 10K events and brought in more than $30,000 – which met this year’s goal.

Cathy Manuel with Youth Impact says the funding will help support young people who are struggling in the community.

“We have three programs that don’t have any core government funding… it’s all fundraising events. So we have to fundraise around $370,000 every year in order to keep transitional housing and Youth Quest Central operational.”

Manuel adds she’s grateful for all of the support shown in the community for this year’s event.
