The New Brunswick Court of Appeal has heard the appeal of a ten year prison sentence in a fatal drunk driving case in Moncton, and a decision is expected to come at a later date.
Boyd Reginald Atkinson feels the sentence he was given is too harsh.
Kathy Horsman was killed in a head on collision near Berry Mills and Edinburgh Drive in April of 2013.
Atkinson was behind the wheel of the other vehicle. He was found to be speeding at the time of the accident, and was also found to have a blood alcohol limit 3.7 times the legal limit.
A passenger in Atkinson’s vehicle was also hurt.
