Elsipogtog Man Sentenced In Relation To Rexton Protests

A 26 year old man from Elsipogtog First Nation has been sentenced after pleading guilty to charges related to shale gas protests in the fall of 2013.

Tyson Peters will serve a 6 month conditional sentences – two of those months under house arrest, as well as being under probation for a full year after the sentence has been completed.

Peters pleaded guilty to charges of uttering threats, assaulting a police officer, and intimidation towards the media.

The incidents all occurred in the Rexton area in 2013.
