Most of us have a flashlight, batteries and a first aid kit in our homes in case of an emergency like a winter storm, but what about water purifying tablets, a whistle or sleeping bags?
Every family is different and has different needs when it comes to putting together their 72-hour emergency kit according to Regional Emergency Management Coordinator for SJ and Sussex Brent Whalen.
Whalen says those who had a 72-hour-kit fared much better through the ice storm and post-tropical storm Arthur than those who didn’t.
