Saving energy means saving money.
But cutting back doesn’t mean you have to live in the dark and without heat.
Spokesperson for NB Power Brent Staeban says you can turn your heat down by about 2 degrees anytime, and save about 4 per cent in home heating costs each month.
A programmable thermostat is also a good choice, because you can have temperatures decreased by around 5 degrees during the day when you aren’t home.
Other ways of savings energy includes Programming your dishwasher for off hours, using LED lightbulbs, shortening your showers, while taking them in the evening, always using cold water for washing clothes, and using power bars.
