The provincial Auditor-General is reporting New Brunswick’s net debt has increased to more than $11.6 billion or $15,400 per person.
The report shows a $4.7 billion or 69 per cent increase in net debt since 2006 and might exceed $12 billion by this April.
MacPherson has also figured out the elimination of “special” payments to the Public Service and Teachers’ pension plans saves the province approximately $150 million a year.
She’s raising concerns whether the provincial government can adequately protect its I-T systems in the event of power outages, saying backup systems must be in place to take over.
