There’s no word yet as to what caused a fire at a business on Mountain Road today.
Moncton fire crews were called to the Maritime Beauty Supply, also known as the former Ponderosa location, at around 11am. Onlookers spotted smoke and flames coming from the roof of the building.
It took them about 30 minutes to get it under control.
Deputy Fire Chief Don McCabe says several people got out unharmed.
He says, “No one was hurt. There was a Manager and three employees who managed to escape before Fire crews got there.”
McCabe says there is extensive water and smoke damage to the building.
Traffic around the area was blocked off for a couple of hours.
