Tucker Deemed Mentally Fit

Matthew Tucker has been deemed mentally fit.

The 34-year-old man in St. Stephen court today following a 30-day psychiatric evaluation.

Judge Henrick Tonning told court, according to a report from the Restigouche Hospital Centre in Campbellton, Tucker has no mental illness and there are no issues in relation to fitness to stand trial.

Tucker is charged with second degree murder, in the death of his mother, 53-year-old Dorothy Tucker of Oak Haven.

Tucker will be back in court on February 10th to set a date for a preliminary inquiry.
