Trans Aqua – also known as the Greater Moncton Wastewater Commission – is proposing a rate hike of 2.5 percent for residents of the tri-communities this year.
Sewer rates are tied to water rates in our region.
With the proposed increase, the sewer portion of the utility bill in Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe amounts to roughly one-quarter of the total charge to ratepayers.
Meantime, due to the recent departure of its general manager, Bernard LeBlanc, TransAqua has named Michael Asplet, the Director of Finance and Administration, as interim general manager.
Winston Pearce has once again been named chair of the commission’s executive.
