Don’t Forget To Protect Pets In Extreme Cold

The deep freeze in our area is prompting the Greater Moncton SPCA to remind pet owners cold affects pets as much as it does people.

Karen Nelson is the Executive Director and has some advice for pet owners.

“Don’t leave them outside it’s very cold. Although they have a fur coat it is still not enough in this weather. Take them for a short brisk walk.”

Nelson adds putting a coat, or sweater on your pet during the walk will help keep them warm and dry.

She says if you see an animal in distress, you should call the SPCA and let them deal with it.
