Firefighters in Fredericton have been battling a major blaze at a recycling plant since shortly before noon.
For safety reasons, fire crews had to be pulled out of the building on Alison Boulevard in the southeast portion of Fredericton.
An excavator was later brought in to bring down the building’s walls.
No reports of any injuries.
Eyewitnesses say a cloud of dark smoke could be seen as far away as Oromocto.
