Premier Brian Gallant says his government supports investing in infrastructure.
So will the provincial Liberals invest in a downtown entertainment centre for Moncton?
It’s a $100-million question, and it seems the province may be the last piece of the funding puzzle.
In a year-end interview, Gallant says the government will be looking at all infrastructure projects across New Brunswick including the one in Moncton but it will have to fit certain criteria.
Gallant says, “Any initiative, any project that will help us grow the economy and get more jobs in the province, we will certainly look at that.”
The Premier did not make a firm commitment for funding a downtown centre at this time.
The federal Conservatives say they will jump on board only when the province does.
