Ladies, picture this. A blood donor clinic filled with first responders all giving the gift of life.
The annual Guns and Hoses event goes today, from 11 to 7 at Canadian Blood Services on Mapleton Road.
Codiac RCMP and Moncton Firefighters paerticpate in a friendly competition to see which team can have the most donors.
Fire Prevention Officer Steve Richardson says win or lose, it’s a very important cause.
He says, “We see the importance of it. We want to encourage our fellow first responders to get out there and make a donation. It’s a fun event, but it’s also necessary event. It’s quick, clinic staff are amazing. It only takes up to forty five minutes. Be comfortable and see how it works. If you are ready to make a donation, then great. If not, set up an appointment and come back another day.”
RCMP Corporal Mike Gaudet says their goal this year is to have more than 96 donors.
