Rothesay Apartment Building Evacuated After Tossed Cigarette Causes Small Fire

A fire breaking out in a garbage can prompting the evacuation of a three-story apartment building in the Kennebecasis Valley.

Platoon Chief Kevin Clynick says after searching the basement level of 18 Sierra Avenue in Rothesay they found a cigarette had been improperly tossed into the trash.

KV Fire crews spending some time clearing the smoke from the building which houses around 18 units.

Residents spending about 45 minutes outside.
