Cleanliness Improvements At Horizon Hospitals

There has been much improvement in cleanliness tests conducted at Horizon Health Network’s five hospitals in the province.

Moncton Hospital’s Emergency department previously scored 55.3 per cent, but in recent tests, that number increased to 84.2 per cent.

Chief Operating Officer for Horizon Andrea Seymour says that’s thanks to help from the Niagara Health System. They had also had problems with cleanliness in the past, and were able to offer some of the tools they used to make improvements to the process to keep hospitals clean.

Now, Horizon is taking a look at how to maintain their good rating.

Three of five of the hospitals achieved the 85 per cent target rate for cleanliness.

The others are expected to reach that target by the end of the year.
