It’s a busy time of year for holiday parties and gathering and the RCMP in New Brunswick are reminding drivers not to drink and drive.
Mounties in New Brunswick will be conducting numerous checkstops starting this weekend.
Staff Sergeant James Bates with Traffic Services says if you intend to celebrate the holidays with alcohol then have a plan. Don’t drink and drive or find a ride
because you could be charged with impaired driving or become involved in a serious or deadly collisions.
Under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle act, a driver can lose their license for a week even if their blood alcohol level is not over the legal limit.
So far this year, five people have died in collisions in New Brunswick where alcohol was suspected.
