Students Anxious To Meet With Gallant Government

The New Brunswick Student Alliance is looking forward to talking more with the Gallant government over their commitments to higher learning in the province.

A youth employment fund expected to help 1,500 young New Brunswickers find job placements next year was announced in yesterday’s throne speech.

The student group’s executive director Pat Joyce feels it’s important to align post-secondary institutions with the needs of the labour market.

“We want to make sure that what students are learning in the classroom is going to help them when they enter the labour market and try to compete for jobs here in New Brunswick.”

In the near future, Joyce says his group looks forward to sitting down with the Liberal government to learn more about their plans for students and post-secondary education in the province.
