It’s World AIDS day and Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week, and the Leader of New Brunswick’s Green Party is speaking out, stating that it is time for change.
David Coon says the theme this year is “Getting to Zero.”
He says, “Imagining a future where we have zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination against people who are living with HIV/AIDS, and zero deaths related to AIDS. That would have seemed impossible years ago, but we are moving in that direction.”
He says the most important thing that the provincial government can do is make sure that public health has sufficient resources to work with AIDS and also support those non-profit organizations who raise awareness and educate about the disease.
