School Lockdown In Bouctouche Today

It was an anxious day for parents and school kids in Bouctouche today as Ecole Clement-Cormier was locked down after reports of a gunman in the area.

RCMP received reports of a gunman in camo in the area with a gun, which turned out to be an air gun.

Officers rushed to the school to ensure student safety and find the man, which they did quickly with the help of locals.

Officers say the man was very cooperative and no one was in any danger at any time.

They are reminding the public to be very careful with any kind of gun in public, and even air guns or BB guns can prompt 911 calls.

The RCMP is also reminding parents the best thing they can do is stay informed and stay away from the school because their presence will only make matters worse for police.
