Two Families Left Homeless After Fires

A fire over the weekend destroying a house on Farm Road in Grove Hill, 25 kilometers east of Rothesay, and leaving family of four homeless. No one was injured.

The family members are getting emergency assistance from the Red Cross and are staying with relatives in the Sussex area.

The Simonds Fire Department received the initial call and got help in extinguishing the blaze from K-V Fire, Upham, Nauwigewauk and Hampton. There was concern about the nearby presence of propane tanks.

A husband and wife losing their home to fire on Victoria Beach Road near Jody’s Restuarant as you start up the Devil’s Back above Public Landing. There are no reported injuries.
