Canadians aren’t just looking to get gifts this Christmas, they are also looking to share the wealth.
That’s according to a survey done by Leger on behalf of Imagine Canada.
Vice President Steve Faul says the result show that Canadians are in a giving mood.
About 62% intend to make a donation to charities over the holidays,” says Faul. “And about a third of Canadians intend to volunteer their time.”
People are donating for different reasons, says Faul.
“About a third of people want to set an example for their children,” says Faul. “And about a quarter are going to make a donation in someone’s honour.”
The numbers are even better in Atlantic Canada with 71% saying they are likely to donate, that’s 9% above the national average.
