An email that was leaked to the media, has some wondering whether the provincial Liberals may have a patronage program in place.
The email was written by the President of the Liberal Riverview riding, and it stated, “It is the usual practice that upon a change in government road work contracts are made available to supporters of the government in power.”
Conservative Opposition leader Bruce Fitch says it appears as though they are looking to take care of their Liberal friends.
In a statement to media, Myer Rabin , who sent the email, says it was just giving an opportunity to companies that may not have had a chance to bid on projects with the previous government.
Premier Gallant says he will be looking into the allegations and if they prove true, there will be consequences.
Meantime, NDP Leader Dominic Cardy is lumping the Tories and Grits in the same pile saying they give contracts to their friends adding the NDP has a draft bill ready to go that would take political interference out of infrastructure contracts.
