Hundreds of people gathered at an outdoor Remembrance Day ceremony today in Moncton’s Sunny Brae neighbourhood.
The Sunny Brae Legion hosted a parade that left the branch on Broadway Street and continued to the cenotaph on Massey Avenue.
Murray H. Rogers, is one of only two remaining World War Two veterans from Sunny Brae.
He says, “I was over in 1943 and I came back in 1946, and I’m just lucky I am here.”
Rogers, is now almost 90 years old, and says this day is especially important to him because although he was lucky, he lost his brother in the war, a member of the New Brunswick Rangers.
