Anonymous Sexual Health Testing Begins In NB

Starting October 29th, AIDS New Brunswick will begin offering anonymous sexual health testing.

The organization has teamed up with the nursing program at UNB.

AIDS New Brunswick executive director Stephen Alexander says the number of sexually transmitted infections was on the rise in 2013.

Alexander says last year, we had an 84 per cent chlymidia rate, a rising number of syphilis cases and a 10 per cent hepatitis C rate.

Alexander says the problem we have is that New Brunswick is largely rural and the opportunities to get tested are rare and the testing is not available at walk-in clinics.
