Memorials Planned To Honour Slain Soldiers

A growing movement is taking place across the country through social media to honour the two Canadian soldiers who were killed this week, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent who was struck and killed in Quebec and Corporal Nathan Cirillo who was shot and killed on Parliament Hill.

Elisabeth Ryback is an honourary colonel with the 8th Canadian Hussars in Southeast New Brunswick.

Ryback says a spontaneous memorial is being organized and those who want to pay their respects are asked to visit their nearest cenotaph, Saturday morning at 10-am.

Ryback expects a decent turnout at cenotaphs in Moncton tomorrow given the recent RCMP shootings which shocked the nation yet brought the community together.

Ryback says she intends to go to the Victoria Park cenotaph in Moncton tomorrow to honour the slain soldiers and for a moment of silence.
