As a parent, you’re often faced with tough questions from your kids especially when in comes to tragic events like what happened in Ottawa yesterday.

Moncton child psychologist Dr. Ken Ekstrand says it’s important that kids still have some sense of normalcy.

He says kids need to feel protected by the adults around them.

Given the Moncton shootings back in June, Dr. Ekstrand says this kind of tragedy may be still fresh in kids minds but he adds the important thing to do is reassure them that they are safe with adults.
