Riverview MLA Bruce Fitch being voted in as the interim leader for the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick.
The decision being made at a meeting of the P-C Provincial Council today in Oromocto. Fitch has been elected to the provincial Legislature a total of four times and served as Mayor of Riverview from 1998 to 2001.
President of the PCNB Jason Stephen says they’re glad to have Fitch’s experience, as compared to what he calls the inexperience of the Liberal Party.
Fitch replacing David Alward who resigned as leader after the September 22 provincial election. He will also become the leader of the official Opposition when the legislature starts back up again.
