Road To Employment Raises Awareness Of Youth Employment Crisis

Two recent graduates have set out across the country to document the realities of youth employment in Canada…Are there opportunities for recent graduates to stay in their home provinces?

Co-Founder of the “Road to Employment” tour Denis Luchyshyn is currently in New Brunswick. He knows firsthand what it is like to graduate from a post-secondary education and unable to find employment.

He was encouraged to hear that there are initiatives in place to help keep youth here in New Brunswick.

“You’ve got the government involved, you’ve got the educational system involved and you’ve got employers involved. All these parties are coming together to really dig in to develop strategies to combat and create a reason to stay here in new Brunswick and to make a life here.”

Luchyshyn is spending four months on the road along, as he and another person are putting together a documentary. So far, they have interviewed more than 90 Canadians who are working to solve what they say is a youth employment crisis.

The release date for the documentary has been set for the spring of 2015.
