The Crossman Centre/Kay Arena in Lewisville has been plagued with problems including a leaky roof since it first opened in 2008.
Ward 1 Councillor Shaun Crossman has been especially passionate about the facility since it bears his late father’s name.
“Repairs to the roof started in 2008 in February, just one month after its opening. We all remember January 2014 when we had a major leak in the arena and in the roof and it was a huge problem.”
Crossman says he personally took a tour of the roof with city staff and an inspector last month where more problems were identified.
The Ward 1 councillor adds with current work underway, he’s confident repairs will finally be made and the facility can be enjoyed to the fullest.
